Quickfire Q&A With Karina Jambrak
H: How long have you been an artist for?
K: I like to think I’ve been an artist all of my life. As a kid and teen you’d always find me with a pencil in hand.
Once I finished school, I sold oil paintings at Bondi markets and proceeded to continue to paint throughout my Bachelor of Design degree at the University of NSW College Of Fine Arts.
I then worked as a graphic designer for about fifteen years however after I had my second child in late 2017 I was made redundant from my job.
In 2019 I made the decision to fully pursue being an artist full time and haven’t gone back. It was the best decision I have ever made!
H: What does winning the Ink Art Competition mean to you?
K: It’s so awesome, I’m so grateful for the opportunity! I love the Ink Gin brand and the ethos behind it, so I’m really excited for this collaboration.
The support and votes I received from everyone who follows my work made this happen so when I think about it that way, my heart feels so full.
It’s also really exciting to see my work become accessible to more people.
I love a gin in my backyard on a summer’s day too, so having my work on the bottle is an added bonus!
H: Where can people go to purchase and support your art?
K: I have an online store where you can purchase my art and it is also stocked in retail stores all over the world!
