Jam Jar Cocktail Recipe

It’s a beautiful union when convenience and cocktails meet. For some, the concept of jam jar cocktails is new, but for others it’s been their ‘jam’ for years now. Ha ha…

It’s easy and doesn’t require anything fancy - other than a jar. Here’s one of our favourite jam jar recipes, the Ink Southside. Perfect for hot summer days by the pool, or by the beach. It’s also a great one for those of you who have a herb garden with fresh mint, and a lime tree with an abundance of limes!

SOUTHSIDE

Named after the south side of Chicago and one of Al Capone’s favourite cocktails, the Southside is delicious, fresh and simple to mix.

Ingredients

  • 60ml Ink Gin

  • 30ml lime juice

  • 20ml simple syrup (we used our butterfly pea sugar to make the syrup)

  • Mint leaves

Method

Vigorously shake gin, juice and syrup, plus three mint leaves in a jar with ice. Double strain into a glass and float a mint leaf on top to garnish.
