Lester & Earl: Cocktail Recipes
Ink Gin cocktails on the menu at Lester & Earl, Palm Beach.
“The aviation was invented around 1916 by Hugo Ensslin, and traditionally used Crème Yvette. Hard to find, and when I did finally find it I thought that the commonly substituted Crème de viollette actually worked better.”
- 40ml Ink Gin
- 20ml Lemon Juice
- 10ml Luxardo Maraschino
- 5ml Crème de Violette
Shake all ingredients and fine strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cherry.
“We called the owner over when we tasted this, because this just begs to be put on the summer menu. It would be perfect in a cocktail jug as well.”
- 30ml Ink Gin
- 30ml Aperol
- 60ml Marlborough Sav Blanc
- 5ml Elderflower cordial
Build & stir in a wine glass of cubed ice. Garnish with an orange twist and wild strawberry.
Smoke on the Water
“I saw this in a movie once. I thought it was totally strange to float pastis over a martini, but when I tried it with Ink it worked so well and looks seriously cool.”
- 60ml Ink Gin
- 15ml Lillet
- 10ml Pastis
Stir & strain Ink Gin and Lillet into a chilled martini glass. Slowly float the pastis over the surface and watch as the ‘smoke’ dances over the surface of the drink.
